Action at Fort Pocahontas 2007:
We arrived on Sunday morning on about 9:45 am, disembarked from the bus and immediately visited the other youth groups. I cannot tell you how well our cadets were received. From the General and other officers from both sides, the students and the cadets were really made welcome. We met with the period Marine Reenactors and got a quick briefing on their history. Of course we questioned them about Black Marines during this period in history. There were many other groups that we sat with and listened to songs of the period from an Irish group from Pennsylvania. People were very impressed with our cadets.

Founder's Day Celebration 2007 - A special thanks to Dr. Frank Smith for organizing and inviting our cadets to the 2007 Founder's Days Celebration at the African American Civil War Memorial. A very special thanks to Mrs. Dayo Akinsheye, Principal of Marie Reed Elementary School for her unwavering support of The Civil War Cadet Program. At the event, Marie H. Reed and Mrs. Akinsheye received the Jackson Drummer School Awards this year.
